Keep Warm & Stay Well

Updated: Jan 15, 2023

This is my newest Herbal Tea Blend, and I like to name my Teas for their effects. This Wintertime blend contains warming plants that also help nourish & strengthen our immunity.... so you can Keep Warm & Stay well through our winter cold & flu season!!

Many of the plants in this blend have been studied extensively in relation to immune system function & have shown - as in the case of Echinacea, Tulsi & Nettles - that actual T-Cell numbers increase when these plants are taken on a regular basis!

I like to include that information when I can - for those who like to know the Science behind Herbalism. I, like other Herbalists work with MANY plants that we know & understand to support our health & wellness without the scientific 'backing' of a double blind study! This blend contains plants known & understood by both camps.

The warming nature of most of the plants in this blend keep us feeling cozy & safe -

The Plants

Ginger ( Zingaber officinale) is warming for our bodies in 2 ways ~ it contains constituents called gingerols that contain thermogenic (heat producing) properties! ~ it is also high in magnesium, chromium & zinc which all help increase circulation - keeping our body temperature up.

Thyme (Thymus Vulgaris) is a main player in this blend! Antiviral, Antibacterial, Antiseptic... and with an affinity for the Respiratory system - where colds & flus this time of year like to hit us! Also a warming herb, Thyme does a lot to keep us feeling Warm & Well!

Echinacea (Echinacea angustifolia) is our powerhouse herb for fighting infection! Boosts immunity, reduces inflammation, & is antiviral & antioxidant ~ Yes! a pretty amazing plant!

Tulsi (Ocimum sanctum) another antiviral, antibacterial, T-Cell boosting, warming herb! Strengthens & modulates immune responses. Tulsi's adaptogenic properties help our bodily systems know when & how strongly to react!

Nettles (Urtica dioica) I have included into many of my Herbal Tea Blends due to its HIGHly nourishing (iron, vitamins A & C to name a few), antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, T-Cell increasing properties... & here in this blend it's warming nature is perfect!

Oatstraw (Avena sativa) - while being a cooling plant, I have included it here for its HIGHly nutritive nature; a nourished immune system will function better than a depleted one! Oatstraw (& the entire Oat plant) is high in vitamins, fiber & even protein, which is SO important in immune response!

I love making Herbal Tea Blends!!

Creating a balance of medicinal effect, warming properties, & a flavor profile that is pleasing is the Heart of Herbal Tea Blending!!

Besides.. it's OBvious.. if someone doesn't like the taste, they won't drink it!! If they don't drink it, there will DEFinitely be NO effect on their immune system!!

;-)

Having a warm cup of Herbal Tea that will support your Health~ Wellness~ Balance~ & Happiness... whether you blended it yourself or not - is the Soul of Herbal Tea Blends!!

I hope you can enjoy many calm winter nights, resting, reflecting, & enjoying a cuppa my Keep Warm Stay Well Blend this winter!
